Patch notes 1.4 — safer spawns, smarter quests, three new Rotmons
Smaller patch focused on safety filtering, daily-quest variety, the onboarding flow, and three roster additions.
Safer spawn filtering We tightened the no-spawn buffer around water, motorways, railways and private property by an additional 15 meters. False positives near city-center plazas are slightly higher now; we'll keep tuning. If you find a spawn in an unsafe location, please report it via the in-game tool — every report trains the filter.
Three new Rotmons - **Cosmic Doge** (Rare) — Doge, in space. Spawns slightly more often at night. - **Espresso CEO** (Ultra) — Cappuccino's older sibling. Cafés and co-working spaces. - **Touch Grass** (Common) — Literally a tuft of grass with eyes. Park-biome only. Beginner-friendly.
Quest variety The daily quest pool grew from 18 to 27 distinct quests. You'll see fewer repeats week-to-week. New quest types: "catch one Rotmon in a biome you haven't visited this week" and "complete a 2km loop without backtracking."
Onboarding First-time players now get a three-step guided catch instead of being dropped on the map cold. The old flow was efficient but unfriendly. Returning players are unaffected.
Bug fixes - Fixed an issue where Limited Edition spawns occasionally rolled twice in the same encounter. - Fixed a memory leak in the AR catch screen on iOS 17. - Fixed a typo on the leaderboard that displayed level 1000 players as level 100. - Fixed the streak counter resetting incorrectly across daylight-saving boundaries.
Coming soon PvP battles are now in closed beta. Friends list is live. Trading is on the roadmap but not next sprint.
